Newborn sessions are absolutely some of my favorites! But these early newborn days can be exhausting and stressful, and the last thing you might want to worry about is having photos taken! I totally get it! But I can promise you we'll capture images that you will cherish forever! Your baby will never be that little again after all! So, it's my heart to make this process as stress-free and straightforward as I can for my families. I am truly honored every time I'm asked to step into this sweet season of life, and I am here to help you feel equipped and comfortable to have some fun during your session.

your newborn session

Let's Go

Here are just a few notes on what to expect to help you prepare for your newborn session! You'll have so many other things to worry about in these days, so it's my goal to make your session fun and stress-free by helping you feel equipped and excited!

Newborn sessions are shot at your home, and typically take about an hour! After you've had your baby and can start feeling out feeding & sleeping rhythms, we'll work together to find a time of day that works best for you and your baby.

It's my job to make sure I am putting you in the best light and best environments. I will always prioritize finding the best natural light in your home (and sometimes we'll pop outside) because your photographs will be brighter and more beautiful for it!

Although we'll do our best to find a good time for your baby- it's not a perfect science! Of course sometimes babies will cry or need to take a feeding break, and that's completely ok! I actually love capturing some of these realer moments!  Newborn sessions are more relaxed, and we're at your home, so we can be flexible to what your baby needs.

For newborns, I recommend having a couple of options on hand! Pick an outfit or two that you would like them photographed in, as well as a swaddling blanket (to help with flailing arms & legs if we need it!) For girls, you could add a fun hair bow as well and it’s always cute!

For parents & older kids, please try and wear light neutrals or soft colors. This helps create a lighter & brighter look, and looks great with baby skin! Soft greens, blues, greys, beiges and whites always look amazing in family shots! Take a peek at this Pinterest board I put together if you need any inspiration!

I'll send a sneak peek within a couple days of your session, and you can expect your full gallery to be delivered within three weeks! It's one of my favorite things to send these galleries out because already, your baby is no longer that small!!
