I believe in joy in the ordinary moments. In the kinds of images that are so bright and full of color that you can't help but smile when you look at them. In legacies of moments displayed on walls and printed in albums for generations to treasure.

I began capturing images on my parents' DSLR at the age of 20 while taking a visual communications class in college. In a love that struck me as fast as a match lighting, I began learning to create art in the ashes of one of the most difficult seasons of life I'd been in.

Whenever I pick up my camera, I remember how big of an honor it is to bring to life someone's unique story. To me, photography is a pause button on time. It’s art. It’s joy. I can think of no better way to love on people than to see them, and to capture stories that their families can cherish forever.

It all began with books and music.

As a child, I couldn't get my hands on enough to read. I loved exploring imaginary worlds and allowing my mind to wander and dream. I also fell in love with music at a very early age, a love that would lead me into choir after choir from childhood all throughout college, and even now into my late 20s.

When I discovered photography, I realized it was the perfect medium to capture both the storytelling and the passion + emotion that I loved so dearly from words and music. Now that I'm older, I realize that the best stories are the stories of our own lives and that they hold so much more depth than the ones we read in books. It has become my mission to paint visual pictures of everyday lives that tell good stories and  carry the depth of emotions the perfect melody can.
